Saturday in Santa Barbara

Alex has been such a trooper the past few weeks. He's had a pretty bad cold that really affected his asthma. For the past few weeks he's had to sleep propped up on our loveseat to keep from coughing all night. Even though he's been sleeping uncomfortably and feeling pretty terrible, he made sure that we got out and had some fun as a family. I love him!!!!

Last Saturday we took a nice stroll downtown. We didn't have anything planned, really, other than to get something to eat. Alex knew of a great deli close to the courthouse, so we parked and trekked over. However, for some crazy reason, it is closed on Saturdays. Who closes on Saturdays?!

So we just walked around taking in the sights. We found some cool statues:

And fountains. Even one with turtles!

We also met a lady who helped people adopt snakes. She had a California King Snake, a rosy boa and a couple of garter snakes. They were beautiful snakes. Alex got to hold the King Snake. I wouldn't mind having a snake for a pet.

The boys even got snake balloons:

It was a fun Saturday that really wore Alex out. The next day he pretty much stayed in bed until about 1pm. Thanks, Alex, for being a trooper and keeping us entertained even when you could hardly breathe!
