The boys' favorite thing to do at the zoo is to slide down the 'ant hill' in the playground area. It's a hill covered in what looks like astro turf where kids slide down on pieces of cardboard. I don't know who started this sliding game, but it's so popular that kids will save pieces of cardboard just for this purpose. And don't let your piece of cardboard out of your sight for one second! Or else someone else will grab it and run!
After some sliding fun we headed over to the grassy area to have lunch, which consisted of sandwiches, oranges, pretzels, cheese puffs and hummus.
After we ate, we went back to slide again. Nathan decided to mix it up a little and also played on the giant spider web and metal tortoise.
At some point we decided that we should go and look at the animals. We were at the zoo after all! But not before we checked out at the koi pond.
All tuckered out after a day at the zoo.
